Trio Oliva / Boisseau / Rainey «Orbit»

Stéphan Oliva, Sébastien Boisseau and Tom Rainey know about the triangular exchanges that have defined their paths. Their first album « ORBIT » out in April 2019 has been one of this spring's revelations, both praised by the public and the critics. It is about the return of Stéphan Oliva in a trio format that made his success in the 90's and 2000's. Stéphan Oliva and Sébastien Boisseau - one of the most active double-bass players of the european scene - chose to invite Tom Rainey, an unmissable drummer from the buzzing New-York jazz scene. They all played with different masters of piano-bass-drums trios such as Paul Motian, Fred Hersch, Kenny Werner, Joachim Kühn... No wonder these three highly qualified musicians chose the one format of jazz orchestras to combine and share their experiences, their conception of sound, dream, power or drama.
