In their latest album, Vilallonga, the voice of electronic tango and Albert Bover, one of the most important Spanish jazz pianists (“pure silk in the keys, he seduces in all his improvisations”) offer us a repertoire of original songs in Spanish, French, and Catalan with poems by Théophile de Viau, Victor Obiols and Blancallum Vidal, as well as Cristina’s own pieces and other versions of Latin American authors such us Chabuca Granda, Diego Schissi, Mili Bermejo. A suggestive universe with influences from jazz standards and New World rhythms. Music undoubtedly from today which does not ignore the tradition.
