Emilie Calmé «Tribute To John Coltrane»

After a solid classical and contemporary flute formation, Emilie Calmé also studied bansuri in Bombay with Indian flutist Hariprasaad Chaurasia. Rich in this experience that has strongly influenced her playing and composition, she chooses to revisit the repertoire of John Coltrane, with the most inspiring musicians of the moment: Alain Jean-Marie, true legend of jazz and biguine, Gilles Naturel, composer and multi-instrumentalist who regularly play with the greatest (Benny Golson, Lee Konitz ...), supported by the unique groove of Cuban drummer Lukmil Perez. Appropriating a work and digging its finesse is an artistic process on its own that requires rigor and passion, common values for this Quartet.
