8pm - For a long time they played together. Alain Jean-Marie, Patrice Caratini and Roger Raspail, who are no longer present, are now Tropical Jazz Trio. After decades of musical wanderings, they finally decided to enter the studio thanks to the impetus of the young label French Paradox. Finally gathered on an album, these three great names of music propose us a jazz with Latin and Caribbean rhythms.
9pm - Winner of the Ellington Composers competition, pianist and composer Leïla Olivesi explores new musical regions with a rhythm of travel evoking Asia, Africa and America... After collaborations with Manu Codjia, Emile Parisien, David Binney, Magic Malik, Jeanne Added and Elisabeth Kontomanou, she presents her new opus: the Andamane Suite, accompanied by the fine flower of hexagonal jazz.
Finally, here is Leïla asserting herself in a brilliant way as a composer in a field, jazz, which lives not only from the spontaneous invention of improvisation. Here she is better than ever architect of her imaginary world, admirably staging her soloists in a work with multiple perfumes and shimmering colors... Claude Carrière. An exciting, fluid, concentrated disc. Vincent Cotro, 4 stars Jazzmag.
10pm - Born of a common desire to play open, uncompromising music that would not turn its back on a certain jazz tradition, Flash Pig is a quartet created in 2008 that finds its inspiration as much in the work and writing of the free scene of the 70s (Keith Jarrett, Ornette Coleman, Paul Motian), as in the sound and spirit of some contemporary musicians. Awarded numerous prizes, the quartet has so far recorded three records under his name (the last one, «Year of the Pig», was released on the NOME label in 2019) and plays a repertoire of personal compositions, which allow the four musicians to offer an open, uninhibited, and continuously evolving jazz.
