Guillaume Ménard Quintet

"Our music is rooted in the imagination of our generation of jazz musicians. Born in the 80s, children of the explosion of the audiovisual, we studied in conservatories but were also fed urban cultures, molded music and images of our time; we had access to innumerable information, suffered a thousand influences and realized, each in our own way, a synthesis of these multiple elements." The sound of this new quintet vibrates from the great tradition of jazz while incorporating processes, emotions and images from pop, Western scholarly music, but also American cinema and comics; our future-oriented music is inspired by its own past, and feeds on everything that is in motion and external to itself.
