YAPUNTO is a story of friendship! It is in 2015 that Adrien Garrido and David Delhomme have the idea to create a Colombian music group. They immediately call on saxophonist Boris Pokora and trombonist Stéphane Montigny, both of whom are also passionate about this music and this country. Made up of ten musicians from contemporary music, jazz and world music, the group Yapunto has just released its first album in March 2019 already honored by the criticism with the emphasis on Afro-Colombian music. Inspired by Totó the Momposina, Kuma random or Lucho Bermudez, the band is carried by the energy and the voice of the singer Ale jandra Charry (Pixvaé, Nilamayé ...) coming from Cali in Colombia, by a rich brass section around multi-instrument Boris Pokora (victory of the music of the best instrumental album in 2011 with Eric Legnini) but also the frenzied rhythm of these percussionists in a powerful and transcendent ensemble.
