Vincent Courtois Trio – Pierre Baux "Oakland"

Much more than a movie concert, the trio Courtois-Erdmann-Fincker, John Greaves and François Beaux will present excerpts from the film Martin Eden released in 1914, a few years after the publication of Jack London's book. Images, texts and music tell us about the magnificent and tragic destiny of Martin Eden, a young sailor from the shallows of Oakland. Armed with an uncommon determination, he throws himself into intellectual learning and sets out to become a writer in order to seduce his girlfriend and be accepted in her community.
