Founded by Etienne Mbappé (bassite by John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Salif Keita ...), NEC + was born in April 2019, on the stage of the Baiser salé Jazz Club and brings together, around the bass player with gloved hands of black silk, the sticks the magic of Nicolas Viccaro on drums, and the harmonic finesse, the melodic beauty, and the heartbreaking bow of Christophe Cravero, on the piano, on keyboards, and on the violin.

NEC + distills intense, surprising, singing, dancing music… with resolutely jazz tones, where the winds of Africa and elsewhere sometimes blow. An aerial music, when crystal harmonies embrace caressing melodies; earthly, when wild rhythms express a daring thirst for freedom. The trio merges genres by giving pride of place to improvisation.
