Jam Session Hommage à Cesaria Evora - Dharil Esso

At the Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend free and festive musical evenings at the Festival Estival de Jam, from August 3 to September 2.

More than a simple concert, the jam is an opportunity to discover outstanding musicians, to see them having fun improvising together. It is the feeling of participating in a unique moment.

One hour of concert lays the foundations and launches the theme of the evening in homage to an artist then a jam takes us until the end of the night.

The bridge between the Special Stromae and the tribute to Cesaria Evora is obvious and yet not at all calculated! In 2014, the young artist paid him a poignant tribute with the song AveCesaria. The one nicknamed "the Barefoot Diva", legendary performer of the song Sodade, has conquered the entire planet and continues to influence the young generation. Dharil Esso, winner of the Wikidrummers Festival pays homage to the queen of "Morna", a typical Cape Verdean musical genre, mixing local percussions, Portuguese fado, songs of the British sea and Brazilian threads. Dancing and singing rhythms, it will perhaps be welcome, like this great Lady, to sway barefoot in the high-perched club on the rue des Lombards.
