Jam Spéciale Wayne Shorter & Weather Report

At the Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend free and festive musical evenings at the Festival Estival de Jam, from August 3 to September 2.

More than a simple concert, the jam is an opportunity to discover outstanding musicians, to see them having fun improvising together. It is the feeling of participating in a unique moment.

One hour of concert lays the foundations and launches the theme of the evening in homage to an artist then a jam takes us until the end of the night.

Wayne Shorter, one of the greatest saxophonists still alive. This lunar musician, shy and introspective, passionate about science fiction, is also an exceptional composer. In 1971, with Joe Zawinul, he formed Weather Report, one of the first jazz fusion groups and one of the most influential to this day. Jazz freedom and highly structured compositions, elements of rock, funk and electro, ultimately deliberately multicultural world music that defies all precedent and all categorization, a real revolution in jazz fusion of the 1970s and 1980s. Since the age of eight, his passion for the saxophone has devoured him. Traveling the whole world alongside Biréli Lagrène (more than 400 concerts), Mieko Miyazaki, Franck Wolf is a humble and discreet man, who has the sax in his guts. Christophe Cravero, subtle touch and lover of beautiful melodies, he is also fond of jazz fusion (Billy Cobham, Etienne Mbappé ...), the groove will be assured with the rhythmic Romain Labaye / Tao Ehrlich, young drummer influenced by Nate Wood, Paco Serry, Jon Grandcamp, he is at the head of Ishkero, a young instrumental fusion group which appears today as a rising group of the Parisian jazz scene.
