At the Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend free and festive musical evenings at the Festival Estival de Jam, from August 3 to September 2.
More than a simple concert, the jam is an opportunity to discover outstanding musicians, to see them having fun improvising together. It is the feeling of participating in a unique moment.
One hour of concert lays the foundations and launches the theme of the evening in homage to an artist then a jam takes us until the end of the night.
Amazing guitarist, Lionel Loueke has played with masters Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. From Benin where he was born and started jazz, to Paris and Boston where he trained, he distils a musical universe of great richness and fundamental cheerfulness, with a warm and evocative sound.
With an exceptional voice, which covers four octaves, Somi follows in the pure tradition of great jazz and soul singers. The American, of Rwandan and Ugandan origin, composer, author and performer, subtly mixes African sounds with her jazz. Some say she would be the new Nina Simone!
Pianist and composer Clélya Abraham thrives in Jazz, Nu Soul and World Music thanks to the freedom given by improvisation. For this jam, she surrounds herself as usual with musicians she met at CMDL.
