On the program, 1 hour of concert followed by a frenzied jam!
Essential jazzman, Mario Canonge is recognized both for his talents as a pianist and for his rich and original compositions. Came to settle in Paris in 1979, co-founder of the famous group Ultramarine, accompanist of Dee Dee Bridgewater, he has also collaborated with Kassav, Malavoi, Michel Jonasz, Richard Bona, or even Manu Dibango... For 16 years, he has been offering a jazz aperitif , every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Baiser Salé, with his accomplice and friend Michel Zenino, on the most beautiful jazz standards.
Born in Havana, Felipe Cabrera belongs to the rising generation of Cuban musicians and composers “products of the Revolution” who have chosen jazz and its great creative freedom as a form of expression. Faithful pillar of Gonzalo Robalcaba, Roberto Fonseca, Miguel Anga Diaz or Harold Lopez Nussa, Felipe Cabrera is also an intense and original composer.
An exceptional technician, Stéphane Huchard is above all a free spirit, open to all music related directly or indirectly to jazz, whether electric or acoustic. He thus shared the stage with the greatest number, from the ONJ to Stephano di Batista via Sanseverino or Laurent de Wilde. Sideman recognized, he is just as much in his garb as a talkative and atypical composer
At the Baiser Salé we have known François Constantin and his jams for thirty years, so you might as well say that he invited the whole French jazz scene to perform alongside him! He knew how to make this weekly meeting an internationally known institution. Theater of improvised and generous evenings where all of Paris of all jazz meets, the high-perched club on rue des Lombards no longer counts the moments of magic, encounters and discoveries that will have marked these three decades.
Generosity, experience, energy, & talent guarantee the incomparable atmosphere of the Monday evening Jams.
