François Constantin Jam Session
TRIBUTE TO WES MONTGOMERY AND JIMMY SMITH
Co-founder of the Amazing Keystone Big-Band, sideman of choice for Cécile McLorin Salvant, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Natalia M. King, Stefano Di Battista, Jesse Davis and Gaël Horellou, Fred Nardin is a pianist steeped in history (s) and tradition. Wise but determined, passionate and fascinating when it comes to approaching the great masters, for this jam he takes us in the footsteps of Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith with Hugo Lippi and Romain Sarron. The Franco-English guitarist swings between Bop and Manouche. Travel companion of Eric Legnini, Christian Escoudé or Alain Jean-Marie, he also played alongside Melody Gardot or Christian McBride. In 2020, he received the title of Artist of the Year from the Jazz Academy for his album "Comfort Zone", made in New York with Fred Nardin in particular. Drummer of the Amazing Keystone Big Band, Véronique Hermann Sambin sextet, Fred Nardin or Laurent Couthaliac, Romain Sarron stands out from the drummers of his generation by a vocabulary rooted in the tradition of jazz from his masters, Herlin Riley, Kenny Washington... He monopolizes a singular mastery of the brooms and a sharp swing. His communicative expressiveness and his musicality make him one of the most awaited jazz drummers. An hour of concert followed by a jam until the end of the night! Here is the promise kept every Monday by François Constantin for 30 years! Generosity, experience, energy, & talent guarantee the incomparable atmosphere of the Monday evening Jam Sessions.
