Jam Session Tribute To Michel Petrucciani

At the Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend free and festive musical evenings at the Estival de Jam Festival, from July 17 to September 2, 2021, every evening from 9:00 p.m. More than a simple concert, the jam is an opportunity to discover outstanding musicians, to see them having fun improvising together. It is the feeling of participating in a unique moment. One hour of concert lays the foundations and launches the theme of the evening in homage to an artist then a jam takes us until the end of the night.

An exceptional, moving and captivating pianist, Michel Petrucciani devoured jazz and left his mark in history. One evening in July 88 at the Strasbourg Jazz Festival, Grégory Ott, 17, a jazz buff, saw the pianist enter the stage in the arms of his drummer and guardian angel as Petrucciani liked to call him, Aldo Romano.

30 years later, Grégory still remembers: "After the minutes of astonishment, from the first notes, it's a shock. For 10 years I listened to him a lot and I saw him again ten years later with his sextet. He was the one who made me want to do jazz. »So with love, audacity, intelligence and modesty, Gregory Ott pays homage to him regularly with his trio and this evening, for the Summer Jam Festival! Jazz enthusiasts, lovers of good humor or musicians in search of emotions, do not hesitate!
