A real phenomenon, Yessaï Karapetian has just won the prestigious LetterOne Rising Stars! His first album as leader Yessaï is absolutely magnificent:

“a dazzling contemporary jazz, bathed in fervor and finesse”, Le Cargo

“Magnetic and powerful, the nine compositions of the album take as much to the guts as to the cortex. Often fascinating, sometimes confusing, but always virtuosic “pieces” of art.”, Alex Duthil

Classically trained violinist and mandolinist, Hugo Van Rechem has always been immersed in jazz and improvised music. Navigating in a personal and committed aesthetic, he never ceases to write and play resolutely progressive music. Composer and arranger for various formations, crossing the bridges between classical and jazz, Hugo researches and experiments with music where the avant-garde is not afraid to mingle with standards and folk and draws contrasting music from it, influenced as much by artists such as The Bad Plus by Flying Lotus, the bluegrass mandolinist Chris Thile or even composers like Ligeti or Dutilleux.

The duo offers you a unique sensory experience, between ritual and magical operation in the sandstone of a "comprovisation" where the minds of Alan Moore, Colette Thomas or David Lynch will cross. #BeCurious
