Jam Special Weather Report
moderated by Nora Kamm
Formed in 1971 by Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter, Weather Report is one of the first jazz fusion bands and one of the most influential to this day. Jazz freedom and highly structured compositions, elements of rock, funk and electro, a world music that is ultimately deliberately multicultural, that defies precedent and categorisation, a true revolution in jazz fusion of the 1970s and 1980s. Nora Kamm's music is heavily influenced by African rhythms and her collaborations with Manu Dibango and Cheick Tidiane Seck. Winner of the "Soloist Selmer" prize at the Tremplin Jeunes Talents 2014 in Paris, her album Source was elected "Révélation" Jazz Magazine. She brings together Edison Knight, a spontaneous and curious pianist inspired by soul, funk and hip-hop; Romain Labaye, bassist for Nguyen Lê, Scott Henderson... and Tao Ehrlich, a young drummer and member of the Ishkero group.
