Xavier Belin - Pitakpi

A pianist of Martinique origin, Jacky Bernard has inspired a great number of musicians, including Xavier Belin since his early days. Xavier Belin will pay tribute to this wonderful pianist, accompanied by his quartet Pitakpi.

Created in 2018 by Xavier Belin, pianist, arranger and composer, Pitakpi is a jazz quartet strongly influenced by Afro-descendant music. The word "PITAKPI" refers to the onomatopoeia used for the "Ti-Bwa" clave, the clave from which almost all traditional Martinican music is built.
