The British-born pianist is delighted to be able to play for this project with four of the most talented artists he has met. With strong and different personalities that come through on their instruments, each one really brings something to the table. Every time Dave improvises on his songs, it's like adding a new layer. They push him to explore parts of his compositions that he didn't know existed...

Dave Bristow writes music that falls on an irregular, highly personal and difficult to measure spectrum that ranges from melody, structure, daring harmonies and unpredictable chaos. To clarify this somewhat vague and undoubtedly pretentious formulation, he likes to cite as direct influences the two "large ensemble" albums by Thelonious Monk Big Band and Quartet in Concert and Thelonious Monk Orchestra at Town Hall, the album Directions In Music: Live At Massey Hall by Herbie Hancock, Roy Hargrove and Michael Brecker, as well as Nobuo Uematsu's "Final Fantasy VII" soundtrack.
