Thomas Naïm Trio

In 2020, Thomas Naïm invited Raphaël Chassin on drums and Marcello Giuliani on bass to tackle a tribute album.  With undisguised excitement and curiosity, he will confront his trio, with whom he has collaborated for years on the master’s compositions. The original idea is not to repeat the tracks as is because it would not have had any real artistic interest but to find for each piece a more personal aesthetic, and with the exception of two or three songs, to favor the instrumental approach. «The challenge was to replay his songs but giving the impression that they could be titles of our own, highlighting the sound of the trio.»

The result, a personal reading of selected and sometimes unknown pieces and a desire to revisit the work of Jimi Hendrix in a new fashion.
