Fabien Mary Quintet

Every Sunday and Monday, la Rhumerie brings you together for a jazz evening with Alex Swing Events, thus reviving the tradition of St Germain des prés during the fifties, and offers a selection of rums and West Indian cuisine (surcharge + € 1 per order on concert days).

The quintet, saxophone, trumpet and piano, bass, drums is one of the most important formations of the 50s and 60s for one of the most prestigious jazz labels: "Blue Note". This sound that is recognizable among so many others is that of great groups like the "Jazz Messengers" 'of Art Blakey, those of Donald Byrd and Hank Mobley, Art Farmer and Benny Golson ....

This quintet led by David Sauzay and Fabien Mary is inspired by the repertoire of this great era and the "Blue note" sound, characterized by the swing, the groove in which we find the feeling of the blues.
