In March 2020, Dubamix released its 4th album with resounding internationalism, surrounding itself with many guests: "Comrades". More than a title, it is a word that is understood as a universal link between the emancipatory struggles of the past and today.
Dubamix breathes new life into timeless hymns by surrounding himself with a dozen singers from different worlds from the reggae/dub scene (Marina P, Mal Elevé by Irie Révoltés, Lengualerta, Daman) or rap conscious (Drowning Dog, L'1consolable, Stratégie de Paix, ...) or even libertarian rock (Joke, Fred Alpi). Dubamix thus weaves a stateless web that extends from rocksteady to cumbia via trap or folk, all welded together by the implacable tempo of electro dub and the subversive force of protest music, all sprinkled with essential Dubamix samples (Richard Strauss, Rachid Taha, Galt MacDermot, Ennio Morricone, Bronski Beat,...).
Due to sanitary conditions, the tour originally scheduled for April 2020 could not take place on time, but it was only a postponement! After releasing a tribute EP to the 150th anniversary of the Commune in 2021 with his comrades, Dubamix will finally be able to defend this album on stage with a subversive and original live in which sound and videos mix, and where guest singers , samples and acoustic instruments interact. Spirit of revolt and bass culture are then united in a captivating show on electro-dub, UK steppa, reggae, drum'n'bass atmospheres.
