Kamilya Jubran, singer and oud player, and Sarah Murcia, double bass player and composer, have known each other for more than 15 years and have already had the opportunity of fruitful artistic collaborations. They met in 1998 in the Palestinian band "Sabreen", of which Kamilya Jubran was the main voice, and have been making music together ever since. 'Nhaoul' is the first project that results from a common language, the fruit of a deep exchange around their respective musical interests, a female duo "revealing the beauty of contemporary Arabic and Bedouin poetry." (Mondomix, 2013).
ÄKÄ - FREE VOICES OF FOREST with Leïla Martial:
An amazing concert, an unprecedented encounter between the musical universe of the Aka, widely known as pygmy songs, and that of artists with a flourishing imagination and experienced in improvisation, gathered around the incredible vocalist Leïla Martial and body-percussionist Rémi Leclerc.
The singers and percussionists of the group NDIMA, bearers of an ancestral culture, and the three improvisers from the South-West of France are united around the pleasure of playing with their voices and their bodies. The spontaneity of singing, playing and dancing is the soil of this intercultural meeting placed under the sign of the respect and the dialogue of cultures.
Here, the voice is at the center of the exploration and becomes the instrument of all possibilities. We witness a joyful mix of sounds, vibrations and vocal expressions. The meeting of these two worlds is like the advent of a community of sounds, a "people of sounds".
