Gabriel Sauzay "Ground Spirit"

Ground Spirit is a quintet of young Parisian musicians from the Paris National Conservatory. Influenced by jazz greats such as Ornette Coleman and Sam Rivers, they offer a repertoire of standards and arrangements combining frenetic energy and lyrical subtlety. While still anchored in a jazz tradition, this quintet takes a different look at this music and bridges the gap between the 50/60 jazz culture and resolutely modern music. The different influences that these musicians had the opportunity to explore allow them to offer the spectators a jazz both lively and captivating.
