Jam Session Tribute To Chick Corea

With his ease in approaching all styles and his constant quest for innovation, Chick Corea was one of the greatest jazz pianists of his generation and a pioneer of jazz fusion, with Miles Davis and then his group Return to Forever.

Originally from the Bordeaux region, Simon Chivallon graduated from the Pôle Supérieur de Paris in 2015. Sideman and leader, he loves the stage above all else. In 2017 he released his first album "Flying Wolf" with a good press presence. In March 2021, he released a trio album "Light Blue" attributed to a repertoire of songs that was unanimous in the profession. If jazz is a way of experiencing music in the moment, Simon Chivallon is the total embodiment of it, and each solo demonstrates this with its spontaneity and frankness. There is no room for pretense: what is played is what comes, a sensitivity that expresses itself, a talent that breathes and seeks to touch the listener.

At the Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend unique musical evenings at the Festival Estival de Jam. For a month and a half, from July 22 to September 11, 150 musicians will parade: from the youngest to the most experienced! You will have the opportunity to be amazed by a young 15-year-old American drummer, by artists on the rise or musicians who are already benchmarks. The themes are catchy and will appeal to as many people as possible: you don't need to be a musician to come and enjoy the special energy of these open stages.
