"I am not a jazz singer, she said. Jazz is an insult. It is an obscene, abusive word for me. I am a black artist. My name is Abbey Lincoln. Nothing else". In the company of her fellow travelers, Charlie Mingus, John Coltrane or Ornette Coleman, Abbey Lincoln was acclaimed and recognized in spite of herself, as a Jazz singer. Sometimes compared to Billie Holiday, she confirmed this filiation in 1987 by publishing a tribute album “Abbey Sings Billie”.

At the Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend unique musical evenings at the Festival Estival de Jam. For a month and a half, from July 22 to September 11, 150 musicians will parade: from the youngest to the most experienced! You will have the opportunity to be amazed by a young 15-year-old American drummer, by artists on the rise or musicians who are already benchmarks. The themes are catchy and will appeal to as many people as possible: you don't need to be a musician to come and enjoy the special energy of these open stages.
