Sylvain Le Ray Quintet

Sylvain Le Ray is a pianist and composer, he expresses an intense, sensitive and sometimes poetic music. In a quintet, he paints a universe that is by turns contemplative, poetic, but also very urban. The composer draws his inspiration from the modern jazz of Tigran Hamasyan, Oded Tzur or Christian Scott, but also from traditional music. With a group that is immersed in the modernity of today's music, while being anchored in the jazz that links all these influences.

As in the movies, let yourself dream through this journey, which crosses musical landscapes sometimes soaring and melancholic but also warm and telluric.

Winner of the "Jeunes & Jazz" stage of the Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Sylvain Le Ray graduated in musicology, obtained his DEM and the congratulations of the jury and became passionate about jazz as soon as he started to play in orchestra. He participates in many projects and approaches a wide range of musical styles: Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, pop, Breton traditional music, electro, rock/folk, salsa, Brazilian music, Guadeloupean music...  

Created in 2012, the #JazzDeDemain slot has given birth to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, allowing young artists to experiment on stage, to develop a repertoire, while presenting it to the public.
