Tribute to Herbie Hancock's album: "Dis Is Da Drum
Coming from a family of artists, François Constantin is the expert of salsa rhythms and percussions. He has accompanied the greatest names in French music: France Gall, Johnny Hallyday, Michel Sardou, Florent Pagny... For over 30 years, he has hosted the Monday jam, which is THE unmissable and timeless event where the masters of the genre meet the younger generation for musical jousts in a friendly atmosphere.
A piano prodigy, Herbie Hancock's princely wings spread out and soar over the roads of bebop jazz as much as over the volcanoes of funk. In 1994, he produced "Dis Is Da Drum" which reflects his evolution towards acid jazz. Jam Session in homage to this pianist of an inexhaustible creativity with 3 musicians impossible to circumvent of the current jazz scene: Nicholas Vella, genius of the keyboards, he is also one of the pillars of Mr. Mâlâ; always following his instinct in the service of the music, Romain Labaye is a sideman of reputation, faithful of Scott Henderson in particular; Archibald Ligonnière intrepid drummer of Scott Henderson at the sides of Romain, but also required by Hadrien Féraud and many others!
A concert set followed by two sets of improvised musical encounters where generosity, experience, energy and talent guarantee the incomparable atmosphere of the Monday night Jam Sessions!
