Tribute To Charles Mingus

Inspired by Mingus since his adolescence, Jacques Vidal has devoted several albums to this genius composer with a volcanic temperament.

In the company of saxophonist Pierrick Pedron, Daniel Zimmermann on trombone, singer Isabelle Carpentier and Xavier Desandre-Navarre on drums and percussion, he pays tribute, through his very personal arrangements, to the only double bass player in the history of jazz to have created a musical universe comparable in scope to that of Duke Ellington by integrating all the currents of the history of jazz, from Jelly Roll Morton to avant-garde jazz.
