Maxime Boyer Quintet

Influenced by Lage Lund, Gilad Hekselman, Immanuel Wikins, Micah Thomas, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk or Ornette Coleman, Maxime Boyer is a young guitarist, improviser and jazz composer.

He studied classical music and jazz at the conservatory of Nancy where he obtained his two DEM with teachers such as Pascal Nicole, Sylvain Courtney or Franck Agulhon.

He has since graduated from the CMDL (Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood), where he was able to perfect his skills with great musicians: Pierre Perchaud, Romain Pilon, Olivier Louvel... he proposes a musical universe where tradition and modernity are mixed.

He develops his ideas of composition, improvisation and interpretation thanks to the different musical projects he is part of such as the experimental jazz trio Around Odds.

For his last residency date, Maxime Boyer proposes an ambitious project around the music of two essential musicians of the current New York scene: Immanuel Wilkins and Joel Ross! We could discover them in duet, but also on the last 2 albums of Joel Ross, true genius of the vibraphone!

Created in 2012, the #JazzFromTomorrow slot has given birth to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, allowing young artists to experiment on stage, to develop a repertoire, while presenting it to the public. A promising and promising niche where creativity and emulsion have no limits. #BeCurious!
