Antoine Brochot

Double bassist from Paris currently residing in Lausanne, Switzerland, Antoine Brochot presents his new quartet through the album "Fundamentum". Claiming a jazz with sometimes hip-hop or pop accents, this Franco-Swiss quartet is partly inspired by the current New York scene. The different protagonists each find a place of choice to express their talents as improvisers, in arrangements sometimes meditative, sometimes sulfurous. Symbolically, "Fundamentum" evokes the deep rootedness between humans and the Earth, which is increasingly lacking in our modern societies. The album refers to different earthly elements, sources of life and energy.
