Stéphane Tsapis and Jonathan Orland have one thing in common: they like to cross sound boundaries to free themselves from stylistic constraints and affirm their own space of freedom. They thus create a dreamlike universe with varied landscapes, which evokes the paintings of Chagall where joy and melancholy coexist without complex. The format of the duo allows a musical conversation that is sometimes intimate, sometimes unbridled, during which the listener is invited to give free rein to his imagination to let himself travel, soar and dream... In "Youkali" published by Cristal in 2022, Stéphane Tsapis and Jonathan Orland are inspired by Yiddish music, Balkan music, avant-garde jazz of the 60s or even pop music.
