Moeun Son was born in 1992 in Daegu, South Korea, into a family of professional musicians. She started learning the piano at the age of 4 and the violin at the age of 5. Her grandfather trained her himself for 10 years.
After brilliant studies in classical music, solo performances in the Daegu string orchestra, and a tour with the Keimyung symphony orchestra, Moeun Son chose to move to France in 2012. Marked by the astonishing discovery of Stephane Grappelli's joyful and liberated playing, Moeun abandoned her plans to study in Germany and decided to move to France to learn jazz, the gateway to a new musical Eden.
Composer and arranger, the violinist founded the Son Moeun Project collective in 2019, gathering around her Dexter Goldberg on piano, Florent Allirot on double bass Galindo Cuadra on guitar and Gabriel Ferrari on drums.

Moeun Son: violin
Galindo Cuadra: guitar
