Jean-Philippe Bordier Quartet

Every Sunday and Monday, la Rhumerie brings you together for a jazz evening that revives the tradition of St Germain des prés during the fifties, and offers a selection of rums and West Indian cuisine (surcharge + € 1 per order on concert days).

Tonight, Alex Swing Events presents the quartet of Jean-Philippe Bordier, guitarist and composer in the line of Kenny Burrell, George Benson accustomed to Parisian stages, and who presents his new CD "Four is More". Accompanied by the talented: Andreas Neubauer (Larry Coryell, Bireli Lagrene) on drums, Guillaume Naud on organ and Pascal Bivalski on vibraphone, they play in an original orchestration festive music full of swing tinged with various influences: jazz, Caribbean , funky groove.

According to Jean-Michel Reisser: "What strikes the listener first is the disconcerting ease possessed by this remarkable guitarist because his music is full of inspiration, blues and swing at boiling temperature. What touches me the most is the clarity and precision of his musical discourse which never uses gratuitous virtuosity or useless chatter.We find in all these compositions his innate sense of melody as well as all the elegance of his playing in the fluidity of each of his sentences."
