Brenda Ohana Trio

Brenda Ohana presents with her trio our new album "Forest", a jazz album indeed, but with colorful sounds of sambas, ballads, rock, chacareras, free jazz and much more! The three musicians have been playing together for several years and have multiplied residencies in France and Portugal since their album released in 2016 "Who Knows If".

Born in the Amazon rainforest in Belém, Pará, Brazil, Brenda Ohana currently lives in Paris where she composes music and plays vibraphone and drums as a solo artist and guest in several jazz, contemporary and world music projects. She regularly performs her albums, compositions and arrangements in collaborative projects with various touring groups in countries such as China, Morocco, Burkina Faso and Japan.

Drummer of the French musical scene, accompanying Joe Dassin, Jean Luc Lahaie or Bernard Lavilliers, Frédéric Sicart and his unparalleled energy gives the trio a lively and precise playing ! Felipe Cabrera, an excellent double bass player of the Afro-Cuban jazz scene, has been in demand by the greatest. He plunges us into the rich musical atmosphere of Cuban jazz.

For the occasion, Brenda invites the trumpet player evolving as well in jazz, funk or improvised music and insatiable traveler, Jérôme Fouquet as well as the pillar of the Caribbean music Alain Jean-Marie. He is a true monument and one of the greatest French pianists! From his youth in Guadeloupe to Paris, via Canada, Alain Jean-Marie has accompanied the greatest on the piano: Chet Baker, Bill Coleman or Abbey Lincoln. If at first he seems impenetrable, he captivates the audience from the very first notes and seeing him play is a pleasure and a moment of humanity.
