Franck Monbaylet proposes, with a new quartet, his project "Les Notes d'un Voyageur" in which he reveals a music inspired by jazz, pop, classical, Arabo-Andalusian and ethnic music. Deeply inspired by the cities that welcomed him during his travels, Franck Monbaylet puts into music the emotions they made him feel. From Havana to Shanghai, through Rio, Zagreb, Moscow, New York, Reykjavik, Fez or Muscat, the repertoire of this band takes us to the heart of his travels. The magic of images, smells and encounters have inspired him to write notes. These notes gathered in scores gave birth to works reflecting his undeniable attraction for many cultures.

This hybrid set offers beautiful combinations of sounds that connect us to the vibratory heritage of the Earth. The various percussion instruments (derbouka, cajon, pandeiro, daf...) of Maurice Merizen, take us directly to the heart of the journey. The cello of Prosper Sibertin-Blanc, a classically trained musician, offers the necessary depth. The virtuoso ease of William Brunard, Biréli Lagrène's double bass player, brings the link between writing and improvisation.
Franck Monbaylet on the piano, happy captain of this beautiful formation, combines subtlety and power, always free in his rhythmic and harmonic expression to color his playing with all his classical, jazz and ethnic influences.
The pleasure of playing together is there, you can feel it, see it and hear it, boarding immediately for a world tour of sensations.
