Clément Dodray Quintet

Classically made by the instruments that compose it, this quintet has also drawn from the source of a certain form of jazz classicism: That of the post-bop current of the 1960s (Coltranian modal influences, Shorterian mysticism or poisonous Joe Henderson ...) updated by listening to contemporary violists (Rosario Giuliani, Kenny Garrett or Plume for example). Added to this are modern Groove and Caribbean touches, with harmonic colors and asymmetrical measures inspired by musicians such as Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Kurt Rosenwinkel or Céline Bonacina. Far from being reduced to a patchwork of multiple inspirations, the music created by the Clément Dodray Quintet is both original and innovative, rooted in tradition and at the service of the personal vision of a certain form of jazz to come.
