Paul Weller - Salle Pleyel 2023
After 5 years of absence, Paul Weller, the founding and charismatic leader of The Jam and The Style Council will be back in France in 2023.
Great architect of the English rock who always knew how to put himself aside from the afflictions of the system, godfather of the britpop in spite of himself and absolute icon for whole generations of musicians, engaged songwriter in the manner of Ken Loach, the Modfather is a model of the kind as it perhaps does not exist anymore. For 40 years, Paul Weller has been reconciling like no one else this cold and gloomy Great Britain inherited from the Thatcher years with the warmth and humidity of the banks of the Mississippi. A Paul Weller concert is a masterclass in the history of contemporary music where the best of rock, folk, northen soul and even acid jazz collide.
Always eager for new experiences, he never stops experimenting with new musical styles and collaborates with Noel Gallagher, Robert Wyatt, Lucy Rose, Martin Carthy, Danny Thompson, the string ensemble The Wired Strings and The Stuart Kennedy Orchestra for the recording of the album True Meanings in 2018.
He returns in 2021 with a new album An Orchestrated Songbook recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and arranged by Jules Buckley.
In 2022, he unveils a triple album Will Of The People: a compilation gathering a series of unreleased tracks recorded between 2002 and 2021.
