Laurent Derache Invites Bellowshakers

Bellow is the bellows, the vital organ of the accordion. Shakers, percussion elements used to create rhythm within music, symbolize here the drum set.

Accordion and drums, have always rubbed shoulders in music. In the early dances, the two were almost inseparable, even being played by the same person. BELLOWSHAKERS, an amazing duo of musicians, offer us their vision of this original instrumentation, through the compositions recorded on their first EP. Between writing and improvisation, the music of BELLOWSHAKERS is guided by mutual listening, complicity and interaction.

Laurent Derache's passion for music began in his childhood and he started playing the accordion very early. His real love affair with jazz gave him a desire for emancipation, freedom and new, wider horizons! Jazz, blues, classical music, world music, songs, he is at ease in all these styles which have no border for him. For his first residency date, he invites Franck Camerlynck. Classical, contemporary, jazz and latin music deeply mark his playing as a percussionist. His various projects lead him to play throughout France and around the world.
