The fruit of ten years of complicity, this new project originates in the midst of a pandemic. Composers Mathieu Bélis and Guillaume Barraud come together for multiple improvisation sessions, in a totally open spirit. The result is an intimate repertoire. From the synergy of the piano and this great Indian transverse flute that is the bansuri, emanates a clean and striking language. The struck strings and the breath of the bamboo intertwine, intertwine to sketch canvases in bright colors. It is an ode to travel, an escape. We discover a heterogeneous universe, which is part of a contemporary jazz imbued with classical, pop and traditional music. For this first opus entitled "Prints", they have invited the virtuoso guitarist KEVIN SEDDIKI (ECM artist) on nylon guitar on two comps.
