Naghib Shanbehzadeh Trio

 At 30 years old, Naghib Shanbehzadeh already has over a decade of stage experience. Having collaborated with musicians such as Billy Cobham, Manu Codjia and Matthieu Donarier, the young Iranian percussionist is also a member of the Shanbehzadeh Ensemble. He has benefited from an oral transmission through the traditional percussion of southern Iran as well as a learned written transmission through Western percussion at the Conservatory of Créteil.

Released on June 10, his latest EP "I Am" is the result of more than a year of work. A year during which he remembered his numerous travels in order to retranscribe a part of them in his tracks. He takes his musical tradition from the south of Iran and mixes it with jazz, electro, urban, African and Brazilian rhythms. Six tracks in which his memories are concentrated.

The melodies of the percussion solos are embellished with the sounds of Xavier Belin's mixed piano playing and Maurizio Congiu's double bass and his energetic fingerings.
