After a first season that won us over, Xavier Belin is back with a second season of his "Pléonasme" concept, with even better guests!
Named by TSF Jazz as the "new star of Caribbean jazz", Xavier Belin is a very promising young pianist. His music is often defined as "Caribbean jazz", "Creole jazz" or "Afro-descendant jazz", because these terms make his music quickly identifiable. However, the pianist's music shows us that these terms are merely pleonasms, based on the constant fact that these musical styles stem from the same essence.
During this residency, Xavier Belin will present a repertoire of jazz standards from Martinique, Reunion, Haiti and Trinidad... So what better than to surround himself with two of the most important West Indian musicians of their respective generations. Collaborators with Rido Bayonne, Manu Dibango and Eddy Louiss, each club appearance by Michel Alibo's swirling bass is an opportunity not to be missed. Hailing from Pointe-à-Pitre, Yoann Danier follows in the footsteps of Sonny Troupé and Arnaud Dolemn.
Originally from Guadeloupe, Yoann Danier follows in the footsteps of Sonny Troupé and Arnaud Dolmen. The drummer has already shared the stage with such musical greats as Tanya Saint-Val, Kassav, Mizikopéyi, Lisa Simone and Calyspo Rose.
Created in 2012, the #JazzDeDemain niche has given rise to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, enabling young artists to experiment on stage, honing a repertoire, while presenting it to the public. A promising niche where creativity and emulsion know no bounds. #BeCurious!
