Sideman to artists from all horizons and co-creator of various projects, Kévin Lazakis shares his musical projects within his #JazzDeDemain residency.
Growing up in the Toulouse region, the guitarist oscillated between music school and self-taught apprenticeship. Since then, he has lived in Paris, where he has collaborated with Cheick Tidiane Seck, Stomy Bugsy, Alexandre Monfort, Etibar Asadli, Clélya Abraham, Emcee Agora, Lester Getz, Violet Indigo, Theorem of Joy, Joanne Radao... and surrounded himself with various other projects (Machineless, Anga Tafè, Aïteka).
He pays tribute to one of the leading figures of London's new jazz scene, Yussef Dayes. This ebullient scene, fanned by the African and Caribbean diaspora since 2015, inspires young musicians. Although widely considered a "jazz" drummer, his sound fuses everything from '70s funk to Senegalese percussion to recent British grime. The unifying factor is a fluid, vital energy.
Created in 2012, the #JazzDeDemain slot has given birth to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, enabling young artists to experiment on stage, honing a repertoire, while presenting it to the public. A promising niche where creativity and emulsion know no bounds. #BeCurious!
