Suzanne is a voice that hums, whispering ageless memories. A voice that is sometimes instrumental, sometimes chanted, sometimes torn. It's the child who mumbles melodies, the grandfather who passes on his memories, the musicians who play, sing and write down everything they've been given to hear. Suzanne is the voice that unites Maëlle Desbrosses on viola, Hélène Duret on bass clarinet and Pierre Tereygeol on guitar, around what seem to be folksongs from a new century.
Melodic work meets traditional rhythms, an awareness of sound and the interpretation of chamber music, a shared improvisational language constantly pushed to its extremes. And the voices that appear and disappear, transporting the trio to sonorities that are never the same.
"The trio is just as unclassifiable in the music it proposes, between chamber jazz, contemporary music and even echoes of folk [...] Beautiful musicality from the group, quality and originality from the soloists".
