For his first album, guitarist Miguel Castro, of Chilean origin and living in France, questions his geographical, cultural and musical origins. He builds his album judiciously titled “Origin” by exploring jazzistic imprints that have strongly marked him (Pat Metheny & Michael Brecker, Henri Texier, Joshua Reman & The Bad Plus), but also references to Chilean poetry (Vicente Huidobro and Pablo Neruda), as well as philosophical reflections on exile. In this album, it is often a question of life paths and quest for meaning, always associated with a precise musical direction.
