For almost two decades, Mayra Andrade has been inviting us into her musical world, which she has built through her travels, encounters and loves. Born in Havana, almost by accident, it was in Cape Verde, the land of her heart and blood, that she tamed her first musical paradises and carved out her artistic difference, her leitmotif. Since her first album, Navega, in 2006, and her latest, Manga, recorded between Paris and Abidjan with two gifted beatmakers, 2B from Côte d'Ivoire and Akatche from Senegal, Mayra Andrade has invited us into the vast movement of her rich, free and generous world. On July 4, the old Charité will be draped in a multitude of music as Mayra, accompanied by her accomplice, guitarist Djodje Almeida, tells us the most beautiful stories of her musical travels, that's for sure!
