Jam Session With Benjamin Henocq
AROUND GARY BURTON
Gary Burton is one of the few vibraphonists who have left their mark on the history of jazz with their creativity. Born in 1943 and active since the early 1960s, the Indiana native made his debut with George Shearing and Stan Getz before beginning a fusion period under his name and with Larry Coryell then Chick Corea and a few others. Solo, in a quartet or in front of the orchestra, the vibraphonist is at home everywhere, whether in a classical jazz, post-bop or contemporary context. At Baiser Salé, we take advantage of the summer to spend unique musical evenings at the Estival de Jam Festival. For more than a month, from July 28 to September 2, 150 musicians will parade: from the youngest to the most experienced! Drummer, author, singer, composer, arranger, and dancer... the young prodigy continually enriches his creativity and his practices and it is with this unwavering ardor that he takes the reins of the jam for a few days of the Festival! It is in these moments that we witness fleeting musical emotions and unpredictable encounters. After an hour of concert, which lays the foundations and sets the tone, it's time for the JAM!!
