New season of JAM by Caloé, which invites Olga Amelchanko for this session for a new tribute.
An emblematic figure of jazz and one of the greatest saxophonists of all time, John Coltrane revolutionized music with his virtuoso playing. Coltrane began his career alongside greats such as Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, before establishing himself as a visionary leader with legendary albums such as A Love Supreme and Giant Steps. His music transcends the boundaries of the genre and continues to inspire generations of artists. Coltrane left an immortal musical legacy and an indelible influence on the world jazz scene.
Caloé hosts Sunday jam sessions once a month, evenings dedicated to young talents. An hour of concert to set the tone, followed by a jam session open to all!
Born in 1988 in Russia, Olga Amelchenko began her musical journey at the age of 5, singing in a choir, before turning to the piano and dombra. After studying choir conducting at the Abakan Conservatory, she discovered her true passion for the saxophone. In 2006, she continued her training at the Novosibirsk Conservatory, then moved to Germany in 2012 to refine her art, studying there until 2019. Now residing in Paris, Olga is active on the European jazz scene as a leader with the Olga Amelchenko Quartet and HELICON, as well as a musician in various projects such as the Musina Ebobisse Quintet, Franck Tortiller “Led Zeppelin chapter two”, Unique, and Orchid, among others. She performs on stages in Germany, Russia, France, the Netherlands and Italy, exploring multiple musical projects. With an inexhaustible creativity, Olga Amelchenko continues to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz, enchanting listeners with her energy and musical depth. An artist that the editors of Jazz News and Jazz Mag already described as an artist to follow in 2024.
