After Monk Quartet

The After Monk quartet is a jazz project in which the usual rhythm section, piano bass drums, is replaced by a string quartet.

The repertoire consists mainly of pieces by Thelonious Monk and some original compositions.

The themes are presented by the string quartet and the improvisations are made by the members of the quartet, and/or guest soloists, saxophone trumpet, accompanied by background and walking bass of the cello.
