CÉCILE MCLORIN SALVANT France, United States

The world's queen of vocal jazz, the Franco-American singer-songwriter's outstanding career - including three Grammy Awards and the McArthur Genius Award - never ceases to amaze with its brilliance and eclecticism. While following in the long tradition of Billie, Ella, Dinah and Sarah, Cécile has also listened to a lot of blues and American pop, not forgetting all the Haitian music her father listened to. She also draws her inspiration from theater and vaudeville, and is passionate about songs with a strong narrative dimension that shine with nuance, unexpected twists and humor. Her originality and creativity illuminate her latest opus, Mélusine, where she sings in French, Haitian Creole and Occitan, and continues, like a fairy, to amaze us
