L'Autour's music lies at the crossroads of improvised post-Coltranian jazz and world songs and poetry.
In both their original compositions and their repertoire of songs, the melody plays a central role, forming the starting point for improvisation. The melody recurs in ever-changing forms, right up to the point of trance. 
L'Autour conceives the concert as a unique journey around the song, where intuition, mutual listening, fantasy and surprise determine the path taken by the five musicians. Only the starting point is known. As for the itinerary, it's an adventure that's improvised in the moment. “Caminante, no hay camino, se hace camino al andar” (Antonio Machado).
